Catherine Makhumula

Catherine Makhumula is a theatre academic and creative. She is currently the Head of Department and a Senior Lecturer at the Department of Fine and Performing Arts, University of Malawi. She has a Ph.D. in Drama and Theatre Studies from Stellenbosch University, South Africa.
In 2021, Catherine led a team that established Sula, a creative hub, sound lab, and website that is dedicated to the promotion of the Malawian creative sector. Sula aims to be a leading source of information, funding, and exchange for the Malawian music, theatre, film, fine art, poetry, and all other creative fields
