Chanel Cochrane
Bio
Chanel Cochranes is a DJ from Pretoria, South Africa.
Chanel’s love for music began at a young age when she first picked the guitar at age 7. She began writing songs and playing for her family and friends. Two decades later, she joined the music industry as a producer, DJ, musician and songwriter.
Buying her first pair of belt-driven turntables in 2003, Chanel became completely immersed in hours of practice. This saw her winning her first residency in London's Oxford Circus. She firmly established herself in London as DJ Chen and secured a residency at Gigalum and played at the UK’s most sought after clubs including Ministry of Sound, Pacha and Brixton Academy.
She launched and ran "highly-successful" Hiz n' Herz club nights in London featuring names such as Jason Hodges, Filth & Splendor, Hoxton Whores, Lady Lea, Guy Herman, Inland Knights, DJ Fresh and Kyle Watson.
Chanel has worked with some of the biggest names in the industry such as Mark Knight, Umek, Wolfgang Gartner, Maxi Jazz, Carl Cox, Mauro Picotto and Judge Jules.
In 2008, she made her Ibiza debut for Dirty Dubbin promotions featuring at the legendary Eden and Kanya Bar. A year later, Chanel played alongside South Africa's finest DJs at dance festival H20, as well as headlining many times at super club Truth. Using her experience, she co-founded a new record label Spinning Quickly, using cutting-edge sounds and addictive beats to release more than 15 tracks on all major portals including Beatport.
Combining production and Djing, she has been invited to feature on international radio stations including Passion FM, Select UK, Chicago House FM and South Africa's 5FM.
She relocated back to South Africa to focus all her time to producing her unique style of music.
