Chimzinum Emmanuella Wali (born 21 August 2005), also known as Chimzy Wali, is a Nigerian singer, songwriter and writer. Born and raised in Port Harcourt, she is the first child of two children. She began her musical career by releasing and uploading her songs to platforms such as Audiomack and SoundCloud. She is also recognized for posting covers on social media, which made her to have followers on Instagram and a decent number of fans. She is currently an independent artist and is not signed to any record label. At the age of 16, Chimzy Wali began producing and mastering music by herself.
She hails from Obio/Akpor LGA in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, Nigeria and she is Ikwerre by ethnicity - although born to a Yoruba mother. Chimzy Wali's Yoruba name is Oluwatomi, which was given to her by her late grandfather.
Her parents are: Azunda Wali (Father) & Bukola Wali (Mother). Her dad is an Engineer and her mother is a chef, former insurance broker, pastor and actress by profession - respectively. Her younger sister is Erioma Wali.
Chimzy Wali finished secondary school in Titare Star Royal Academy. She moved to the United States to further her tertiary studies.
She began playing musical instruments such as the piano and the guitar in 2022, which according to her wasn't something she was used to. She was being taught by a music teacher.
She released her first single – "Stay (Freestyle)" officially on the 8th of December, 2022. She has been active musically since 2022 till present.
Her main genres include: R&B/Soul, Pop & Gospel.
Many have described her vocal type to be a Mezzo Soprano or an Alto, she has a four-octave range. Her vocal range is from an E3 to an A#5, but on a good day she could do and whistle a C6 or even higher.
Aside just being a singer/musician, she is a songwriter, a writer and a pretty good cook. Chimzy Wali has never had interest in drawing, painting, dancing or "being the sporty type," but preferred to rather focus solely on her career as an artist.
