Bio
Estefania AA is an artist from Argentina living in Spain.
Estefania has a Bachelor of Visual Arts and specialised in Sound Art from the University of Barcelona. Linked to art from childhood beginning with Ballet, Improvisation, Architecture, Fine Arts, Performance, Photography, Video and Sound Art.
Multidisciplinary artist based in Barcelona dedicated to the study of the soundscapes and acoustic ecology, electroacoustics, experimental composition, multifocal systems and currently, to the investigation of the simultaneity of the processes between space, movement, sound and image through technology and the body. Her works have been presented in concerts, radio programs, festivals, museums, art and music fairs in Spain, Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Mexico, United States, Canada, Germany, Belgium, France, Italy, Holland and China, among other countries.
Estefanía has been invited to publish theoretical works on critical thinking between art, science and ecology. She has obtained residencies for experimental creation and composition, at important festivals such as Störung Festival and Mutek Barcelona. As well as a long-term residency at the Phonos Foundation for electroacoustic and multifocal exploration. She has actively collaborated with the same institution, as a curator of electroacoustic concerts. She has been a member of the Laboratory of Sound Art of the University of Barcelona as an art researcher and audiovisual producer and collaborator in communication for the G.E.E.S Group (Grupo de exploraciones del entorno sonoro).
In the last three years she has lived between Barcelona, Los Angeles and Bordeaux working as a composer and sound designer. She continues her theoretical-practical research around the visual and sound arts, in the contemporary context and from the western cultural studies.
