DJ Bakstina

DJ Bakstina, born Brian Phillipine Tshabalala on October 13, 1989, in Atteridgeville, Pretoria, began his DJing journey at the age of 8 at Pat 4 Tavern, his family’s residence. He was discovered by Fizzy of 187 Records and went on to release two albums under the label: Time Waits for No Man Vol. 1, produced by Jerah (who has also worked with artists like Tokollo of TKZee and DJ Mbuso of Soul Candi), with the latter featuring on his hit single "Tsakane," and Time Waits for No Man Vol. 2, released in 2004.

His first single, "Tsakane," topped the Mungana Lonene FM charts for three weeks and gained airplay on several other stations, including Ligwagwala FM, Y FM, Metro FM, and Tshwane FM for several months. In 2022, DJ Bakstina began working with The Godfathers of Deep House SA and also joined an online radio station called The Lions Radio based in Manchester, UK.
