Izzy La Vague

Izzy La Vague (born Innocent Teboho Mohoto in Matatiele, KwaZulu-Natal province) is a South African house DJ and producer.
Izzy La Vague became interested in music when he was 12. He joined a kwaito group called Ghetto Patrash, which entered music competitions and came third during one of them held a Matatiele Town Hall.
In 2OO4 he participated in the Schweppes Sparkling Granadilla Kwaito Fabulous competition, singing to a backtrack provided by kwaito superstar Zola. The winner of the competition was Bravo, who released his album 'Skhokho' in the same year.
It didn't take long before Izzy La Vague developed an interest in deejaying. He then met up with Sizwe Kaota Sikhonje and the late DJ Peekay Luphalule, and began playing small parties, contests and and street bashes.
In 2009, the self-taught DJ went on to gain more experience at the Moribo Records DJ school in Pretoria. During this time he began mixing professionally. He then became a resident DJ at Coffee Brown Lounge in Durban, which has also hosted big names such as Black Coffee, Tira and Fistaz, among many others.
During the 2010 FIFA World Cup, Izzy La Vague become a resident DJ at the official fan park at Northend Stadium in Matatiele where he shared the stage with top South African DJs.
In 2011, he released his debut EP titled 'Manhood Celebration'. Around this time he shared the stage with UK electronic artist Andy Compton at #4 Deep House Session in Tembisa, Johannesburg. In 2012, he became a resident DJ at Cappello and popular Pretoria club Zanzu Bar.
In 2015, he released the 'My Mother' single on New York label Vialocal Recordings. The single made various charts and reached No 8 on the Traxsource Top 100 Afro House Artists chart. He also released a second single, 'Some People', which also appeared on a number of house charts. Other international releases to date include the 'Profound Feel', 'Story of My Life' and 'Unfaithful Emotions' EPs and the 'That Day' ft. Vuyo Mtimde, 'Open Your Mind' and '31st Of December' singles.
Izzy La Vague has shared stages with Nathi, Ringo, Zonke, The Soil, Jaziel Brothers, Black Motion, Professor, Heavy K, Big Nuz and Moneoa Moshes.
