Kenton Lee

Kenton Lee, the South African music producer, guitarist, singer, and songwriter, has been making waves in the music industry for close to two decades. Born in Kwa-Zulu Natal and raised in Durban, Kenton honed his musical craft by playing in church bands from a young age. He later studied music at Natal Technikon for a year before moving to Johannesburg, where he collaborated with a diverse range of artists, including Lira, Denim, and Lloyd Cele.

In 2021, Kenton Lee embarked on a new journey as a solo artist, debuting with three consecutive songs: "Echo," "MaLamborghini" featuring Mo-T (from MiCasa), and "Alice." Despite the challenging climate for marketing music, these tracks received fair airplay on radio and TV. Kenton's EP, "Full Circle," which was released in July 2022, features an eclectic sound with influences ranging from jazz to dance and R&B. It's an urban four-to-the-floor sound that's both artsy and danceable.

Kenton Lee's career highlights include performing at the Ambassadors Inaugural Ball for the inauguration of President Barack Obama in 2012 and serving as Lira's lead guitarist for five years. He's received major airplay for an EP with two songs entitled "Follow" (Chymamusique) and "Don't Take Your Love Away" featuring MXO and Patty Monroe. He's also produced hits such as "Now That Your Love Has Gone" by Soulstone and "Addicted" by Urban Reign, for which he won the Most Gifted R&B Video at the Channel O Music Video Awards.

Kenton Lee has endorsed Midas and Audio Technica and recently signed a deal with JWX Studios, facilitated by Pro Audio distributors. His latest project, Kenton Lee Music, is a real-time story of how he's navigating the new music industry landscape with AI and social media. It's a learning and sharing experience packed with new music.

Even though Kenton Lee has traveled the globe, performing on live stages and opening for Tevin Campbell, he returned to his roots in Durban to set up a studio, get married, have a baby girl, and complete his latest project.
