LaSoul

LaSoul (Awakhiwe Mbuyazwe) is a Cape Town based artist who has mastered multiple disciplines within the Audiovisual and Multimedia arts. Top of his talents and skillsets, he is an Award winning Music Producer, coupled with being a singer, songwriter, music video director, photographer and graphic designer, makes him the TOTAL PACKAGE for artists looking to get started with their music or established artists looking for new sounds and unique storytelling.

In 2022 LaSoul released 2 singles and an EP. The EP name is Ndabezitha and the Singles are entitled "The Rain" and "Thembelihle" .As a singer, he defines his style as Galactic soul, which is a fusion of Rnb, Afrobeat and Neosoul Vibes. His early musical years started in school choirs and acappella groups. He was part of the group Blaze, who performed at various venues and won numerous prestigious singing competitions and the hearts of the audiences. Lasoul's proudest moment was singing the opening song to 2013' animation movie, Khumba, which featured Hollywood actors such as Loretta Devine, Laurence Fishburne and Liam Neeson.

The group bug has stayed with LaSoul and in 2018, he formed an RNB Act called GLG with 2 other brilliant singers and they appeared on tv shows and had a show at the waterfront. The group is still active and welcomes corporate appearances

Lasoul's work also won a number of accolades for his production work with various artists including the 2015 NC Dread album that won Mzanzi Dance Hall Reggae Artist of the Year, Album of the year and single of the year. Even his Production of unknown Burundian artist got the artist a Kora award nomination.

Lasoul’s Production Company (Lasoul Studio) has seen an expansion to include Photography (Wedding, Event and Family), Videography (Music Videos and events), Voice and songwriting classes.
