Bio
Malcolm.E is a hip hop artist, sound engineer and producer from Eswatini.
He found his love for rap music during his early high school years. Since then he has been releasing music consistently and growing his fan base.
In 2018, Malcolm.E graduated from Cape Audio College in Cape Town, South Africa with a diploma in Sound Technology and Production. He now uses his skills in his everyday life of making music.
He released his first commercial EP project Things Change – EP in April 2019. On the project, he worked with upcoming South African artists DKD on the track ‘Red Lights’ and KEØZEI on ‘Wrist Frozen’ to name a couple. The track Vision was the stand out track of the project.
In December 2019 he dropped his second EP project the R. T. T (Rapper Turned Terminator). Based on Spotify plays, Lights, Run It and Flex are the most played tracks on the EP.
Malcolm.E boasts a smooth base voice that sets him apart from current artists in the music circuit today and he distinctly incorporates vocal melodies in his tracks.
He counts several internationally renowned artists as his influences. “Growing up I was highly influenced by the likes of Lil Wayne, Jay Z, Eminem and J Cole to name a few of the Hip Hop artists that are classified as lyrical. While still finding my sound I fell in love with trap music and it has definitely influenced my sound and I believe that is where I get my melodies and catchy hooks from. Trap artists that influenced me include Migos and Travis Scott.”
In April 2019, Malcolm.E competed in the MTN Bushfire Pulse Firefly competition where he made it to the Top Ten out of the over 500 artists from Eswatini that competed. This achievement is a career highlight for him. He has again been selected for the Top 20 for the 2020 competition and this year hopes to win and get to perform at Africa’s biggest music festival, the MTN Bushfire Festival.
