Marimba Jam’s award-winning band has over 10 years of experience performing at all sorts of events from big corporate functions, to small intimate gatherings. We have had the honour of performing for the likes of President Cyril Ramaphosa, the Western Cape Government, the Springboks, the Desmond Tutu Peace Foundation and numerous weddings and other private events.

Marimba Jam is a women-led social-enterprise that teaches and performs the South African Marimba. Starting as a small community project in 2012, we have grown to become a dynamic organisation that specialises in various services: Professional Performances, Education Programs, and Large-scale Events. We believe that increasing access to music education bridges the gaps of inequality amongst South African youth. We actively connect students across socio-economic barriers through our teaching and events.

Marimba Jam is built upon the ideology that music can act as a vehicle for social change, following our motto “Finding Harmony in Community”. The objective of our organisation is to provide music education with an emphasis on African music to connect the youth of South Africa across the socio-economic barriers that separate them; thereby promoting nation-building amongst the youth. We believe that increasing access to music education can bridge the gaps of inequality amongst South African scholars – the Rising Stars Program and our annual events act as the main catalysts of this ideology.
