Msamiati

Born Freddy Benny Mbetwa, Msamiati is Tanzanian rapper and songwriter hailing from the Tukuyu area in Mbeya region. He known for his hits such as ‘Malafyale’ and ‘Tumeondoka’.

Growing up, Msamiati was influenced by artists like Joh Makini, Mangwair, Solo Thang and Professor Jay. His clever wordplay at the beginning of his career earned him the moniker Msamiati from fans. His debut track Moja Moja ignited his career and later led to collaborations with other industry heavyweights like Young Lunya, Dayoo, Ben Pol and Dayoo.

What sets Msamiati apart is his innovative blend of Swahili and Kinyakyusa language, showcased on hits like ‘Unyakyusa Mwingi’, ‘Unanichanganya’, and many others.
