Charles Ikechukwu Onwubuya (Onyebeat), is a Music Producer, Sound Engineer, Singer/Song Writer, and Composer. Currently the In-House Music Director of Pure Sound and Visual Technology (a Production Company based in Enugu State, Nigeria and home to the prestigious Oracle Films). An alumnus of the Audio Institute of America and the University of Benin (UNIBEN) where he earned a Diploma in Recording Technology/Music Production and a Bachelor’s in Business Administration respectively. He is an ardent lover of the musical arts having demonstrated experience in Broadcast and Entertainment Media. He began his expression of this love when he joined the Holy Child Choir of Holy Family Catholic Church, Festac Town and later became the Music Director in several choral bodies including The Great St. Albert Choir, UNIBEN.
Onyebeat has worked with notable African artistes like; Prinx Emmanuel, Josh2Funny, O'Lyncilia, Noire Velours, Niniola, Mr. Raw, Slow Dogg, Koker, Xpected and many more. He has composed Original Film Scores and written/sung Original Soundtracks to over 20 films. Notable movies he has scored include 'Strained' and 'Violet' both movies set to be released soon on Netflix and Amazon's Prime Video respectively. Most of his other works in movies can be found on www.oraclefilms.tv (South Eastern Nigeria's First Movie Streaming Platform) owned by his most frequent collaborator Okey Oku (The Oracle) director of the sensational 'Black Rose' movie on Netflix.
Onyebeat is also a celebrated Catholic Liturgical Music Composer, Known for many captivating pieces like 'Abu Umu Zayon', 'Muo Nso Gbadata', 'Ike Chukwu', 'Immanuel' and many more. He has also produced albums for several choirs and composers across Nigeria namely: Saint Albert Choir UNIBEN, St Cecilia Choir, University of Ibadan, Benjamin Ukoh, Victor Ogbonna, Iyo Omokhodion and many more. Well skilled in the art of sculpting a unique sound for the genre - African Contemporary Choral Music; He is passionate about pushing this yet to be discovered genre to the world.
