Bio
Saueri Chomothi is a vocalist and self taught music producer who was born and raised in Eastern Cape but currently residing in Johannesburg. She began singing in Port Elizabeth in the early 2000s and then relocated to Pretoria in 2004. She got her first break scoring a jingle with Take 5 on SABC One, the youth educational program, and released her work, "The EP", in 2011.
Since then she has been involved in different projects such as the creation for soundtrack of "Freedom is Not Free", a South African TV production about the after effects of 1976.
Her single, with SculpturedMusic titled "Only" did very well after its release getting great responses from industry heavyweights like South Africa's own DJ Fresh and Christos. She has also worked with the likes of Pilzy Lee, and other female producers for VNLL BLCK, the first female produced beat tape and is released her third beat tape titles A SAFE SPACE in 2019.
She has featured on magazines such as BPM Magazine, Forbes Women Africa and HYPE Magazine and has made appearances on eTv, Soweto Tv and SABC's Brothers and Sisters with Soul.
She released her 2nd EP called "Head in the Clouds" in October 2019~! On keys, we have the amazing Bongani Sibanyoni, drums with Mpenduko Sondlo and Lebo Mabe on Trumpet. She uses many-layered harmonies and melodies in her music to awaken ears that have given up hope of finding love and expressions of freedom, which gave birth to her beautiful vibrations. Ms. Isis, aka Saueri Chomothi, is a self-taught producer, vocalist, and business owner who was raised in the Eastern Cape but now calls Johannesburg home. Her major break came in 2011 when she collaborated with Take 5 on a jingle for SABC One's youth educational program and recorded music for the South African television program "Freedom is Not Free," which explores the consequences of 1976. She later collaborated with SculpturedMusic on the song "Only," which was released in 2015. Notable musicians in the genre, like DJ Fresh and Christos from South Africa, praised the song, listing it in the top 10. She continued producing rhythmic hip-hop rhythms with jazzy samples and lovely layered vocals despite her lack of prior experience.
Johannesburg-based Subterranean Wavelength Record label produced an album titled "Fantastic Planes" and has featured on various projects like VNLL BLCK, the first beat tape created by a woman.
