Simmy Sims

Simmy Sims (born Simphiwe Mthembu) is an artist from South who found himself experimenting and imitating his favourite musicians at a tender age. That plus a short stint in a school choir was the catalyst that later led him to writing and composing his own music. His compositions have made in onto production work by the talented Neo Ndawo and NK Beats plus over the years he has collaborated with other profilic songwriters like Aewon Wolf, Mnqobi Yazo and many others .

Music wasn’t something he always thought he would do, but his curiosity for the performing arts led to him being a musician. “I got into doing music like most young people, experimenting and imitating their favorite artist. In that stage I realized how much I loved composing and writing, so I put more effort. I started excelling, within that process I found my sound which I continue to polish up.”

Simmy Sims’ sound is very diverse and broad, this is due to the fact that he experiments with various sounds and isn’t shy to collaborate with various Producers and Artists. A few of the Producers include NK Beats and Neo Ndawo, and with Artists, his list of collaborations include Aewon Wolf (Wolfpack), Sibu Nzuza (Ambitious Ent), Mnqobi Yazo, just to mention a few.

Every artist has their ultimate goal when it comes to their musical career, Simmy Sims is no different, his dream: “To pass on vibrations, influence peoples’ emotions in a positive manner. Teach through my music by sharing my experiences, and also melodically creating something that will live forever.”
