Bio
StrongBone (born Senzo Mzimela) is a Durban-Born trombone player and singer who is currently based in Johannesburg where he is pursuing his love for music. He holds a Practical Grades Certificate from the Royal School London Music, and describes himself as a creative when it comes to music production, and started playing in 2000.
In 2004 he moved to Siyakhula Music School under the leadership of the late Dr. Brian Thusi and Mr Khulekani Bhengu which is where he attests to being introduced to classical music and jazz. In 2009 and 2011, Mzimela was Selected as a Young Best Jazz Trombonist and was part of the Standard Bank National Youth Jazz Band. Through his Art, he has travelled to Dubai, Mozambique, Botswana, Namibia, Lesotho and Swaziland to mention a few.
Senzo has worked with renowned artist like Hugh Masekela, Sibongile Khumalo, Khaya Mahlangu, Mbongeni Ngema,Dr Brain Thusi, McCoy Mrubata, Feya Faku, Herbie Tsoael, Nduduzo Makhathini, Africa Mkhize, Ringo Madlingozi, Zake's Bantwini, Black Motion, Black Coffee, Micasa,Something Soweto, Msaki, Kirk Whalum, Gregory Porter, Sly and Robbie Currently StrongBone is working on his album where he Play, sings and produces.
