Taj Weekes and Adowa

Taj Weekes is a musician, poet and humanitarian from St Lucia in the Caribbean.

He describes himself as having an unwavering humanitarian spirit that extends beyond his socially conscious lyrics into activism. He is a UNICEF Champion for Children and founder the children charity, They Often Cry Outreach (TOCO).

Weekes is a poetic singer-songwriter who fronts the reggae band Adowa, a disciplined team of talented musicians that delivers a blend of rock and roll, reggae, one drop rhythms and traditional Caribbean sounds. The band, named after the Battle of Adowa in 1896, supports Weekes’ haunting falsetto, giving audiences mesmerising and fantastic shows.
