Vanessa Marcia

Vanessa Marcia is a musician and singer from the Netherlands, with Surinamese roots.

Marcia draws influence from gospel, soul, R&B, jazz, hip hop, reggae, Latin and Afrobeats as well as other Caribbean music styles. Her love for music began at a young age as a member of a youth choir. Besides music, Marcia discovered her talent in acting and dancing. She was taught piano for years and developed a dream of becoming a music teacher.

Marcia graduated as a social worker and established a foundation called VVFLEX, which works with upcoming artists.

In 2010, she formed an all women band called Ladies Jam. She went solo in 2018 and released her a debut single called 'Own Me Forever' featuring Gambian reggae artist Sensi Q.
