Bio
Yeremia Vindu, a musician, singer, composer, and trumpeter, infuses his art with the rich cultural heritage of the Democratic Republic of Congo. Passionate about Jazz and the spirit of peace and diversity it nurtures, he has become a trailblazer in blending traditional Congolese sounds with modern jazz influences, a fusion he proudly calls Jazz-Rumba.
In recent years, Yeremia has achieved significant milestones. He recently completed a successful series of concerts and jazz shows in New York City, captivating audiences with his unique sound. In Kinshasa, he headlined a Concert for Peace, reaffirming his commitment to using music as a tool for social change. This year also saw the release of Karibu, his groundbreaking album that seamlessly blends jazzy melodies with Congolese rhythms, offering a fresh and soulful take on contemporary Jazz.
Since 2019, Yeremia has been a key figure in the Goma and Congolese Jazz music scene, bringing the sounds of Kivu and Congo to life through vibrant performances. His journey has taken him across Africa, including performances in Goma, Kinshasa, and Kampala. He also fosters young talent through the Jazz-Rumba Experience, an annual festival that provides a platform for emerging musicians passionate about Jazz.
Born in 1995 in the Democratic Republic of Congo, Yeremia grew up amid the ongoing conflict that has shaped the Kivu region for over three decades. Despite these challenges, he found refuge and purpose in music, viewing it as both a therapeutic outlet and a beacon of hope for his community.
Through his music and initiatives, Yeremia Vindu continues to inspire a new generation of artists and audiences, championing peace, unity, and cultural pride.
