BPI to host Music, Wellbeing and Technology session
The British Photographic Industry (BPI), in association with Music Ally, will host a virtual session titled Feeling Good: Music, Wellbeing and Technology on 1 October.
The event will take place ahead of World Mental Health Day on 10 October. It forms part of the BPI's Insight Sessions, which explore the relationship between music and technology and how it shapes trends in music consumption.
The event will look at the latest developments in the fitness and mental health worlds, the role music plays in this space and the opportunities for commercial music in this environment.
The programme will include a presentation on trends in the music, tech and well-being arena – including demos by Music Ally editor-in-chief Stuart Dredge, an in-depth look into Spotify's fitness playlist ecosystem by Chartmetric chief commercial officer Chaz Jenkins, and an interview with Calm head of music Courtney Phillips Spoehr.
Additionally, the session will host a panel discussion featuring Warner Music chief innovation officer Scott Cohen and the founder of CrossBorderWorks Consulting and Advising, Vickie Naumann. More speakers are expected to be announced soon.
Insight Sessions began in 2014, and previous events have included discussions on in-car entertainment, blockchain, VR, AI, Generation Z, smart speakers, and, most recently, music and children.
Since it was founded in 1973, the BPI has represented the interests of British record companies. Its membership includes hundreds of music companies, including the big three, independent music labels and small to medium-sized music businesses.
The event will start at 5pm CAT. Interested attendees can sign up for free tickets here.
