British singer JP Cooper announces SA tour
British singer and songwriter JP Cooper will return to South Africa for a performance at The Old Biscuit Mill, Cape Town, The Playhouse Theatre in Durban and Marks Park in Johannesburg on 27, 28 and 30 November, respectively as part of his world tour.
Best known for global hits like ‘September Song’, JP Cooper’s tour also includes countries like Canada, Romania, Sweden, Denmark, Germany, Netherlands and New Zealand, among others.
“I’m so, so happy to announce that I’ll be embarking on a bit of a world tour this year in support of my new album, and I feel privileged to say that I’ll be coming back to South Africa,” JP Cooper said. “The love I felt last time and the support you guys have shown my music has blown me away. I’ve seen some of the most impassioned and real responses to my music there.
“These shows will be some of the biggest headline performances I’ve ever done, which is both exciting and terrifying! I’ll be playing songs from my forthcoming album as well as favourites from my past releases. I can’t wait to see you guys out there.”
JP Cooper’s return follows his latest single, ‘Diamonds and Gold’, which was released on 6 September. The deeply personal track was produced by Cam Blackwood and is a heartfelt dedication to his wife, expressing how beauty can emerge unexpectedly. It’s the second single from his upcoming third album, following the earlier release, ‘Waiting on a Blue Sky’.
With over 850 million streams for ‘September Song’ alone and a career that includes co-writing Jonas Blue’s hit ‘Perfect Strangers’, JP Cooper has become a voice for heartfelt, soulful music. His debut album Raised Under Grey Skies and his follow-up, SHE, solidified his place as a global sensation. The Manchester-born artist has earned over 6 billion streams worldwide, sold more than 1.5 million albums, and toured extensively across the UK, Europe, and the US.
Tickets to the Cape Town, Durban and Johannesburg shows can be purchased here, here and here, respectively.
