Call for applications: Afro Pepites Show 2021
The African Dream (Le Rêve Africain) association in France is accepting applications for the 2021 edition of its talent search programme, Afro Pepites Show.
The project is a global platform for professional and amateur musicians and music lovers to create a show on the Internet around one single theme: African culture.
A committee of experts will select three projects that will utilise the African Dream’s network of industry operators, fans of African culture, social media followers, and numerous other partners worldwide. Previous winners include Elom 20ce, Takeifa band member Mah Kouyaté, Sahad, Stev'n-T and Coton d’Afrik & The Sailors, among others.
Eligibility
This call for applications is open to musicians, dancers, painters, photographers, fashion designers, sculptors, storytellers, poets, directors of short films and actors from Africa, the Caribbean, Venezuela, Brazil, Colombia, Haiti, Jamaica and Cuba.
Artists are encouraged to participate for an opportunity to:
- Share their works and receive professional feedback.
- Network with fellow professionals and enthusiasts from various African cultures.
- Announce a new project.
Conditions
Applicants should note that:
- Free admission is only offered to artists/labels resident in Africa and South America. For other regions, registration fees for individual artists amount to €20 ($26) while record labels are required to pay €30 for a single project and €18 for each additional project.
- Requirements include contact details, a photo, one music link and a biography.
- Artists who do not have a website should share SoundCloud, ReverbNation and YouTube links.
