Call for applications: Artist residency in Norway
Lademoen Kunstnerverksteder (LKV), an arts workshop centre in Trondheim, Norway, is accepting applications for its 2021 and 2022 residency programmes.
LKV operates as a platform for artists who work with interdisciplinary projects or would like to experiment with multidisciplinary projects. The platform allows participants to engage with the local community through exhibitions, concerts or literary events.
LKV was launched in 1996 and has received approximately 200 artists from 35 different countries including Egypt, Zambia, Uganda and Nigeria.
The residency period is between one and three months.
Who can apply?
The residency is open to professional artists in:
- Music
- Performing arts
- Dance
- Visual art
- Sculpture
- Theatre
- Printmaking
- Textile art
- Literature
- New media
- Photography
- Film
Terms of the residency
- LKV will cover expenses for studio and accommodation.
- Participants will be required to cover for the living costs, travel to LKV from their home country, materials, insurance and local transport.
“We encourage all artists to apply for funding in their own home country, as we are running the residency on limited administrative resources, and selected artists must be prepared to be self-reliant at times,” LKV said.
Requirements
The following information should be provided in PDF format:
- Name, address, date of birth and nationality.
- Artist statement (maximum 1 000 characters).
- Duration of the stay. Please provide three alternatives, arranged as your first, second and third choice.
- Documentation of your work ( Images, text, links to video and/or sound).
- CV.
- Project description containing plans for your work in Trondheim and possible collaborations. If you are applying for an exhibition or event at Babel Art Space, the project description should include strategies for this as well.
The application deadline is 1 March 2020.
