Call for applications: BASA Scale-Up programme SA
Business Arts South Africa (BASA) is calling on artists, creative organisations and businesses to apply for seven half-day BASA Scale-Up programme workshops in Johannesburg, Cape Town, Port Elizabeth and Durban, from 30 April to 11 May, followed by an online training session.
The organisers are looking for 30 delegates per city who will attend a series of workshops that are intended to expand their understanding of business and arts engagement and the opportunities thereof. The deadline for applications is 20 April. Click here to submit your application.
“Artists across South Africa show a deep sense of willingness to partner with businesses but sometimes require guidance on exactly how to go about doing this,” BASA said.
“Through the programme, they will engage with shared value, research and building relationships that are sustainable to shift common thinking within the arts sector, and to expand their knowledge and skills within business exchange relations.
“It is exactly for these individuals and organisations that BASA has continued and grown its programmes to help establish and further the knowledge base of artists and arts organisations.”
Who can apply?
The BASA Scale-Up programme is open to creative organisations or businesses that have been in operation for at least three years and creative professionals who want to formalise their work.
BASA head of programmes and development Lonwabo Mavuso said the workshops would help improve the well-being of the country’s arts industry.
“The BASA Scale-Up programme will introduce new ideas and thinking in the hope of expanding conversations in the creative sector towards greater sustainability of the sector,” he said. “We are excited to have partnered with RMB and British Council Southern Africa Arts for this year’s programme.”
