
Call for applications: Composers competition in Germany
The Young Talent Award Media Music competition for composers is accepting entries for this year's edition to be held during Media Sound Hamburg (MSH) between 10 and 15 August in Hamburg, Germany.

This year's edition will celebrate MSH’s 10th anniversary as a summer academy that awards scholarships to film, game composers and sound designers to travel to Germany for masterclasses, workshops and special events.
Entrants are required to write a new music composition for the Kaiser Quartet either with or without tape, beats, themselves as a DJ and effects (like live sampling). All entries should be in the form of an audio file.
Requirements
Entrants should submit the following:
- Sheet music.
- Mock-up files for their piece.
- A short written explanation of the context/interpretation of the piece.
The above documents should be sent to info@mediasoundhamburg.de before 1 June.
The winning music piece will be performed by the Kaiser Quartet from sheet music. The group is a contemporary string quartet founded in Hamburg and is well known for its studio productions and live concerts by artists of various styles.
The winner will be invited to attend the 2021 edition of MSH and the prize-giving ceremony, which will take place on 14 August. They will receive free accommodation. However, they will be required to cover their travelling expenses.
