Call for applications: Goethe-Institut JHB social media coordinator
Goethe-Institut Johannesburg is seeking a social media coordinator to cover the sub-Saharan Africa region.
The successful candidate will be stationed at the Goethe-Institut offices in Rosebank. The scope of employment is 50% (20 hours per week) and remuneration is according to the valid remuneration scheme for local staff of Goethe-Institut Johannesburg.
The candidate will work in the information department and his/her area of responsibility will include:
- Further development of the existing regional social media strategy in coordination with the regional head of information services and the communications team.
- Development of a content schedule system.
- Commissioning of content and coordination of regional content delivery from Goethe Institutes in sub-Saharan Africa.
- Content creation: copywriting, creation of graphics and short videos in line with the (visual) language of the Goethe-Institut.
- Evaluation of posts.
- Community management.
- Occasionally participation in events and organisation of live streams.
The candidate’s profile should prove:
- Relevant experience in public relations and social media in the creative and cultural sector or comparable professional experience.
- Excellent proficiency in English. French and German are of advantage.
- Basic graphic design and video editing skills are of advantage.
- Knowledge of the African cultural and media landscape.
- Ability to work under pressure, independently, flexibly and as part of a team.
- Reliability and accuracy.
- Very good communication skills.
- Work permit for South Africa.
