Call for applications: Mobility East Africa grant
The British Council’s East Africa Arts Programme is accepting travel grant applications for a chance to participate, engage and explore contemporary art across the region.
The grant is accessible to East African artists, cultural practitioners, researchers and curators as well as art groups/collectives and organisations looking to create new connections between Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Rwanda, Ethiopia, Sudan and South Sudan.
Kenyan Jazz trumpeter Christine Kamau received the grant in 2018 and travelled to Ethiopia to collaborate with Ethio-jazz musicians.
The grant offers up to £1 000 ($1 300) per person and up to £5 000 per collective/group/organisation (paid in local currency).
The Mobility East Africa grant programme accepts applications all year round, and only applications submitted through the form will be considered.
Successful applicants will be notified at least two months after the application process.
