Call for applications: Music video funding

Nigerian pop act Mr Eazi has announced a call for upcoming African acts looking to make music videos.

  • Mr Eazi has $300 000 to share with African artists.

"Calling out emerging artists across Africa. It's now time to submit your entries on Instagram and be part of 100 talented individuals who will be getting music video funding!" he posted on Twitter.

How to Enter

  • Upload your 30-second clip to Instagram of you doing your thing.
  • Tag @empawaafrica before uploading.
  • Add #emPawa100 to your clip caption.

The application deadline is 15 December. Afterwards, the best 100 artists will be chosen by Mr Eazi and his friends, which include Diplo and Raye. Successful applicants will get $3 000 to use for music and video production.

In January 2019, the 10 best artists will be chosen to join Mr Eazi and his friends in South Africa for a three-week masterclass a month later. Out of the top 10 artists, two artists will get to perform alongside Mr Eazi in London at the 2019 edition of the Ghana Party in the Park event.
