Call for applications: Spotify West Africa consumer marketing manager
Spotify is inviting applications for the role of consumer marketing manager, who will be responsible for supporting the consumer marketing function to acquire new consumers and drive consumption and retention across the Free and Subscriber business in West Africa.
Launched in 2008, the company is the world’s most popular audio streaming subscription service today.
The job is a full-time contractor position in Johannesburg.
Interested applicants must possess:
- A minimum of four to five years of marketing and brand management experience in West Africa with a key focus on Nigeria.
- Extensive experience in brand, consumer insights, digital marketing and/or project management in leading cross-functional teams in the delivery of major new products or services in digital businesses, FMCG or retail.
- Extensive understanding of consumer insights and experience in driving these insights into campaigns.
- Strong analytical and quantitative skills with the ability to use data and metrics to rationalise requirements, and features and drive marketing efficiency.
- High attention to detail and a proven track record of driving multiple, challenging priorities simultaneously and independently.
- Collaborative working style.
- Bias for action and strong work ethic.
Responsibilities
The successful applicant will:
- Implement large campaign rollouts for the West African market, working collaboratively with cross-functional teams, locally and globally.
- Cull out consumer insights based on data available both on and off-platform and enable development of campaign strategies.
- Understand regional market opportunities using both internal and external data to arrive at consumer insights and thereby, marketing approach and business objectives.
- Collaborate and work on the marketing brief encompassing creative and media mandates and work closely with internal and external partners to align on the same.
- Work closely to drive initiatives in high-opportunity markets with the objective of acquisition and build awareness for the brand through non-traditional media.
- Partner with on-ground agencies and vendors to identify locally relevant touchpoints that can drive brand awareness, consideration and conversion.
- Deep dive into campaign performance to gain findings that can help build strategies for the way forward.
- Work closely and collaboratively to bring in outstanding global work by adapting it to what is locally relevant.
- Work closely to implement local marketing and music activities in conjunction with the cross-functional team.
