Call for applications: Travel grants for ACCES 2019 delegates
The Music In Africa Conference for Collaborations, Exchange and Showcases (ACCES) is pleased to announce its exciting new partnership with Reeperbahn Festival – one of the most important meeting places for the music industry worldwide and Europe's largest club festival based in Hamburg, Germany.
The partnership creates a framework for the festival to collaborate with ACCES in facilitating sustainable business engagements and exchange between European and African music businesses and professionals, as well as the provision of performance opportunities to musicians in both territories.
Call for applications
To kick off the partnership, Reeperbahn Festival, in partnership with ACCES 2019, has just launched a funding call for music professionals based in any European country who want to attend ACCES 2019 in Accra, Ghana, from 28 to 30 November.
Music business professionals from the following sectors are a priority:
- Recording
- Publishing

- Booking/live
- Management
We are looking for professionals who have a concrete interest in the African market. We seek applicants who are likely to start sustainable collaborations in Africa after their visit.
Thanks to the support of the German Foreign Ministry, successful applicants will receive a travel subsidy of €800 plus conference registration and local transport. One of the key conditions is full participation in the programme, including, but not limited to, panels, workshops and matchmaking sessions.
The travel dates are 27 November (arrival) and 1 December (departure).

Artists exposure
The partnership creates a framework for ACCES 2019 showcasing artists to perform at the festival in 2019 and 2020. Additionally, ACCES 2019 will programme a number of African bands currently based in the diaspora with a view to facilitate rapid exchange between music creators from the continent.
ACCES is continuing with its efforts to secure travel support for delegates, especially African delegates. Feel free to send us an email at claire@musicinafrica.net with your partnership or support enquiries.
