Call for entries: Collaborative album for Arab artists
The Egyptian live streaming service Nowhere Online Music Platform, simply known as Platform, is inviting Arab musicians and bands residing in the Arab region and abroad to submit entries for its Music From Here album.
The project was launched in 2017 with the support of the Arab Fund for Arts and Culture. The project has so far released three albums.
The new music album aims at showcasing works created during the COVID-19 quarantine period.
“This situation called for opening up a greater horizon for artists around the world to test new tools that allow the continuation of the artistic experience through the only safe medium available now, the Internet,” Platform founder and CEO Emad Mabrouk said.
“I'm very happy with the large response we have already received. Even before providing links to applications, our announcement was viewed in the tens of thousands and shared abundantly by the musicians and music lovers.”
Who can apply?
Applicants must be artists from Algeria, Morocco, Tunisia, Mauritania, Egypt, Sudan, Palestine, Jordan, Lebanon, Syria, Iraq and Yemen.
Selection criteria
- All works submitted for participation will be uploaded on the Platform website for listening and shared on social media for promotion.
- In the first selection, 30 tracks will be selected based on streaming statistics and those that qualify will be announced on 15 June.
- The final selection will be done on 30 June by a committee of music specialists, who will choose 10 tracks that will make it to the Music From Here album.
