Call for registration: Mixing and mastering workshop in Ghana
MOB Studios and Tayema Records in Ghana are calling for registrations ahead of the fourth annual Possigee Mix Class in the capital Accra from 13 to 15 February.
The workshop will be facilitated by renowned Ghanaian music producer and sound engineer Awal ‘Possigee’ Alhassan. It will brings together international producers who will take the participants through the craft of audio mixing and mastering.
Possigee is known for working with African popstars such Sarkodie, Wizkid, Stonebwoy, Shatta Wale and Fuse ODG. He says workshop aligns with his vision to change the narrative of the Ghanaian music landscape by facilitating a culture of knowledge sharing among producers and engineers.
“Possigee has devoted himself to help augment the sound engineering situation in Ghana by impacting the tacit knowledge and experience acquired in sound engineering to the young people of today,” the organisers of the workshop said.
Speaking to Music In Africa ahead of last year’s mix class, Possigee said: “Most Ghanaians find it difficult to teach what they have learnt. Others leave the world with all the knowledge they have without imparting it to the next generation. This initiative seeks to correct that.”
Ghanaian producers Ubeatz, C-Tea Beatz, Tubhani Music, MOG Beatz and ‘Ameno’ hitmaker Nektunez as well as Ransombeatz (Nigeria) and Paul Cruz (Zambia) have all featured in previous editions of the workshop.
Registration is ongoing. Interested participants can sign up here.
