Call for submissions: Events for streaming platform in SA

Creative Feel is a South African arts, culture and lifestyle publication and its Virtual Events Portal, which is sponsored by the Department of Sports, Arts and Culture, seeks to generate income for artists and support the local art scene.

"This portal is built on two pillars," the original call reads. "Firstly, there is an incredible need for artists to continue to earn an income during this time. And just as 'live' art and performance are given a value, so too should digital art and performance, whether this is through ticketing, donations, commissions, or sales.

"And secondly, due to the absolutely overwhelming number of webinars, streams, shows, discussions, and so on, going on in the virtual space on a daily basis, we wanted to create something of a haven for the arts lover, where all of the creative happenings in South Africa are easily accessible from one space."

The platform already features artists such as Freshlyground lead singer Zolani Mahola, maskandi duo Qadasi & Maqhinga, and ballet dancers Chase Bosch and Shannon Glover, among others.

How it works

• The service is free for artists.
• Interested performers can submit as many events as they wish here. The form is also available on the events portal.
• Artists must provide an option for viewers to support them such as electronic funds transfer (EFT) details, SnapScan, Zapper or BUSQR code, a ticketing link or a Patreon profile.
• The content will remain the property of the artist and all views will go directly to the platform chosen.

Additionally, arts organisations such as businesses, art galleries, theatres, museums, record labels and event promoters who would like to be a part of the interactive space may contact Creative Feel via email at sales@creativefeel.co.za.

Fans can now visit the platform and set daily event reminders. All the shows will be chosen and uploaded at Creative Feel’s discretion.
