Cardi B’s South Africa gig rescheduled to 2021
US rapper Cardi B’s performance at the Castle Lite Unlocks concert in South Africa has been moved to 2021.
The ‘Wap’ hitmaker was scheduled to headline the event at the TicketPro Dome in Johannesburg on 5 December. The December date was announced following the cancellation of her initially planned 12 June performance due to COVID-19 lockdown restrictions.
“Under the current event rules, we are unable to bring Castle Lite Unlocks to life at the scale consumers expect,” Castle Lite brand director Silke Bucker said. “We also know that despite being in Level 1, COVID-19 is still a reality and the health and safety of our consumer will always be our number one priority.
”We can confirm Cardi B will still be coming to South Africa to give her bardigang a performance they will never forget despite the event no longer happening in 2020.”
The organisers said purchased tickets would be valid in 2021. “Castle Lite will be in direct contact with these consumers regarding the ticket exchange. Consumers who wish to no longer attend the event are entitled to a refund through our ticketing merchant, TicketPro. Refund procedures will also be communicated to valid ticket holders.
“Consumers wishing to get their hands on tickets for the 2021 experience will have to wait until Castle Lite announces the new date,” they said.
