Entertainment Week Lagos returns for second edition

The brainchild of production company Livespot360, the gathering, facilitating exchange within the African creative industry, is set to bring together a diverse and vibrant community of 15 000 entertainment enthusiasts for its second edition.

Running under the theme The Next Wave, the eight-day experience will be held at the Livespot Entertarium, with organisers promising an “unparalleled opportunity for collaboration, networking, innovation and knowledge exchange in the dynamic world of entertainment.”

Last year, the inaugural EWL featured 35 renowned speakers and educators, 16 NFT artists, eight short films and documentaries, and 30 musicians reaching 31.2 million people. Speakers at the first edition included Google Africa managing director Alex Okosi, UK-based Nigerian fashion consultant Denola Grey and Nigerian choreographer and entrepreneur Kaffy, among other industry luminaries. 

Intending to reach over 100 million people and train more than 1 000 individuals, EWL aims to unite both industry professionals and passionate entertainment fans.

“We’re excited to be able to yet again host the best in the global entertainment industry in Lagos, the entertainment capital of Africa, for the second edition of EWL,” Livespot co-founder and CEO Deola Art Alade said. “While the first edition was a success, we’re looking to take things a notch higher with several exciting elements starting with a launch party, panel sessions, keynotes, think tanks, pitch sessions, workshops, masterclasses, movie screenings, brand exhibition area, art installations, networking and a marketplace for local brands’’.
