Femi Kuti to play Nairobi
Live music fans in Nairobi can look forward to Afrobeat entertainment by Nigeria's Femi Kuti & Positive Force at the 26 edition of Koroga Festival, which runs from 6 to 7 July at Tatu City.
The 6 July line-up will feature Kenya’s Gwaash and Ethic as well as Capital FM DJs Joe Mfalme, Jo Kisila and Rouge.
The main event will take the place a day later and see Kuti headline the event, which also features rapper Jua Cali, Samidoh and Them Mushrooms, which was formed in 1969 and is among the oldest working bands in Kenya. The band plays chakacha, benga and reggae, and is known for its 1982 release ‘Jambo Bwana’.
Launched in 2014, Koroga Festival celebrates African music and food. Big-name artists who have performed in the recent past include the late Oliver Mtukudzi (Zimbabwe), Salif Keita (Mali), Manu Dibango (Cameroon), Jose Chameleone (Uganda), Asa (Nigeria) and Ali Kiba (Tanzania).
