Ghanaian icon Blay Ambolley takes to the stage at the +233 Club this weekend

Accra's hugely popular live music venue, the +233 Jazz Club (formerly the Bassline Jazz Club), shall this Saturday, 24 January 2015, host one of the legends of Ghanaian music, Gyedu Blay Ambolley from 9pm.
Ambolley is widely regarded as one of the fathers of Rap music, with his seminal single 'Simigwa do', first released in 1973 and which heralded his entry into popular music consciousness, both in his native Ghana and Internationally thereafter, with stints in the USA and Europe, where he lived and toured extensively, before returning to Ghana, where he is now based.
The enigmatic Ambolley, performing with his full band, promises ,a night, not just of remniniscence, but a mix of the old evergreen hits and new and fresh compositions that have seen this African music icon maintain his place as one of Ghana's finest performing artistes. As his fans wait excitedly for a veritable feast of Blay Ambolley's musical mastery, the only question lingering would be, is 'Simigwa do' on the menu? Ambolley, please say it is.
