Idols SA auditions 2019: All you need to know
The search for Idols SA Season 15 participants is coming to an end and the organisers of the televised singing competition will host the remaining auditions at Ellis Park Arena in Johannesburg and Century City Conference Centre in Cape Town on 16 February and 2 March respectively.
The TV show has already auditioned hopefuls in Pretoria and Durban. As the auditions draw to an end, here is what participants should know before they try out.
What time should I get to the auditions and what should I bring?
Participants should get to the venue early, as there are long queues. Registration opens at 8am and hopefuls should bring their IDs or proof of identification. Participants should bring food, some water to keep hydrated and a song that suits their voices.
Who should audition?
Only South African citizens aged between 16 and 30 years are eligible to enter the competition. Minors (16 and 17 years) must have written consent signed by a parent or guardian. Singers who auditioned in previous seasons are allowed to re-enter, but not anyone from a previous Top 10. Singers who auditioned in previous seasons are allowed to re-enter, but participants who appeared in previous Top 10 editions are not welcome.
Can participants sing their own songs?
Yes! Hopefuls can sing their own compositions as long as the song exhibits their talent and personality. Idols SA encourages participants to have a back-up song rehearsed in case the judges ask them to sing something known to them.
Where will Idols SA be screened?

Will I be able to watch my audition?
All auditions that make it to the judges round will be screened on Idols Extra and will also be available here.
Where will the live performances be filmed?
