JP Cooper’s SA tour starts 24 August
JP Cooper has arrived in South Africa ahead of his tour that will take the British singer-songwriter to Cape Town, Johannesburg and Durban.
The tour will commence at The Old Biscuit Mill in Cape Town on 24 August before heading to Johannesburg for Parklive Festival’s 10th anniversary celebration on 26 August and then to the Durban leg of the festival on 27 August.
JP Cooper will join in Johannesburg by Prime Circle, Matthew Mole, GoodLuck, Neon Dreams, Lloyiso and Shortstraw – while Veranda Panda, Tanner Wareham, Matthew Mole and GoodLuck have been confirmed for Parklive Durban.
JP Cooper’s achievements are nothing short of extraordinary. His soulful voice graces tracks such as ‘Perfect Strangers’, a collaborative effort with Jonas Blue, and the evergreen radio hit ‘September Song’, which has garnered more than 850 million streams. With billions of global streams, JP Cooper's impact transcends borders. His devoted following of 9 million monthly Spotify listeners is a testament to his artistry.
“Being on stage has never been a comfortable place for me,” JP Cooper said “The time, energy and mental preparation it has taken me in the past to get out on tour has sometimes been overwhelming, but coming out of lockdown and getting back out on the road over the last few months has reminded me how special it was being in a room with you all. Seeing people smile, cry and sing along again has really helped to change my perspective on live performance, so I’m super happy to announce my South African tour. Album 3 is currently under construction so we might have to leak some for you so you can sing along to these new songs.”
Parklive Festival, previously stylised 'Paklife’, is a success story in the South African live music space. With an ethos of celebrating artistic expression, the festival has booked a host of South African and international artists over the past decade and attracted thousands of music fans who share a deep passion for live performances. As usual, Parklive will give festivalgoers access to a curated food and beverage village offering a diverse range of culinary delights.
