Mr Eazi unveils Fefe Ne Fefe single
Nigerian musician Mr Eazi has unveiled a new single dubbed ‘Fefe Ne Fefe’.
The single, whose title translates to “beauty is beautiful” from an Akan proverb, is now available for streaming and download.
The uptempo track with a highlife rhythm and smooth sax lead transports listeners to a retro vision of West Africa. The sonic piece is one of several tracks that Mr Eazi recorded in Kokrobite, Ghana, with producer Kel-P.
The track is the second single from Mr Eazi’s awaited solo album The Evil Genius set for release on 27 October. The 16-track album took a decade to create, curating Mr Eazi’s music journeys and its accompanying visual art tells it all.
The album was recorded across multiple locations including Benin, Rwanda, Ghana, Nigeria, London, Los Angeles and New York. It features some of Mr Eazi’s most personal work, exploring love, betrayal, loneliness and family through three distinctive acts.
Mr Eazi is behind Afropop hits like ‘Pour Me Water’, ‘Skin Tight’ and ‘Leg Over’, and has collaborated with Beyoncé, Bad Bunny and J Balvin. He is the creator of banku music, a fusion of Ghanaian and Nigerian sounds and culture, and is the founder of emPawa Africa, a talent incubator programme that funds and mentors emerging African artists. He has clocked over 1.5 billion streams across various digital service providers.
