Open call: Music Connects Africa accelerator programme in Zim
Music Connects Africa, previously known as Scripts and Bars, is calling on music artists and managers based in Zimbabwe to apply for the 2025 accelerator programme.

The call is designed for applicants who want to accelerate their careers and music businesses. The call is designed for songwriters, performing artists, producers, DJs and talent managers based in Zimbabwe, who are 18 years and above, and actively working within the music sector.
Selected participants will benefit from music business masterclasses, financial support, market access, mentorship and showcase opportunities. Masterclasses and mentorship will be facilitated by music industry experts from across Zimbabwe, Africa and the UK.
Programme includes:
- Access to financial investment (grants).
- Extensive music business masterclasses covering music distribution, marketing, publishing, copyrights & contracts, live music and more.
- Songwriting and recording camp led by established music industry experts in Africa and UK.
- Mentorship & coaching by industry experts.
- Showcasing and networking opportunities.
Who should apply?
- Applicants aged 18+ based in Zimbabwe.
- Independent Artists not signed to a record label
- Talent managers with at least one music artist under their management.
- Must have at least two years’ experience with a proven track record of professionally released music online or performing live.
- Young people, women and those from underrepresented communities are strongly encouraged to apply.
Participants must only apply if they are committed to developing their music career or business as a priority and must be able to attend all activities in person or online. Interested artists should apply here before 14 February.
