Namibian Annual Music Awards unveils dates for its last edition
The last edition of Namibian Annual Music Awards (NAMAs) will be held virtually from 29 August to 31 October.
Viewers can purchase tickets via Webtickets and at all Pick n Pay stores around the country. After purchasing, consumers will receive a text message with login details to stream the live event. The organisers said they will announce online platforms from where the shows can be viewed in due course. All shows will be re-broadcasted on NBC Television every Sunday.
“As communicated last week, the NAMAs finale will still be held over a period of eight weekends,” the NAMAs executive committee said. “We have now moved the mini premium events from Saturdays and Sundays to Fridays and Saturdays and all events will start at 6pm live.
“Nominees who may not be able to travel to Windhoek for any reason are obliged to inform the NAMAs executive committee in writing otherwise they will forfeit their performance fees and prize monies in the event that they win in line with the rules.”
Last year, MTC Namibia ended its sponsorship agreement with the NAMAs effective from 2021 onwards. MTC, which has supported the awards since 2010, in July announced that it will invest N$13.2 million ($780 000) into music and fashion events from 1 October.
