Nigeria: Bagetti drops New Dawn EP

New Dawn, comprising six songs, was heralded by ‘Hard Girl’, and was released alongside the official video for ‘Mirror Talk’. 

All tracks on the EP, which blends contemporary and traditional Afrobeats elements, were produced by Wizad, with Chokeboi on co-production duties on ‘Toxic’. Leandro ‘Dro’ Hildalgo, best known for his work on Wizkid’s 2020 album Made In Lagos, handled engineering. 

“Thematically, the collection explores subjects relating to love, vulnerability and resilience among others.

“Join me on this musical journey of self-reflection and growth,” Bagetti said, announcing the EP. 

New Dawn arrives as the artist’s first collection since recently joining Jonzing World record label, popular for springboarding the career of Afrobeats singer Ruger.

“Bagetti being the first female artist to be signed to the label since its inception embodies a whole lot more than just the angelic vocals and crispy lyrics, she delivers on her music,” the label said, adding that she is “set to significantly impact the global music scene with her unique sound.” 

Hailing from Lagos, Bagetti’s musical journey started in 2015, and aims to inspire positive change and unity through socially conscious lyrics. She adds that her vision for the future involves using music as a medium to foster understanding and celebrate diversity.
