Nigeria: Leriq and KaeStyle drop joint EP Asylum
Emerging Nigerian artist KaeStyle and veteran producer Leriq have released their collaborative EP Asylum. The project is available for streaming and download across all major digital platforms.
Asylum, consisting of five tracks, was released via KeyQaad Records, the label which is also home to Nigerian singer Omah Lay.
Leriq, best known for his work with Grammy-winning Afrobeats star Burna Boy, notably on Twice As Tall album, blends his distinct production style with KaeStyle’s strong vocals and street-smart lyricism.
The collection is KaeStyle’s second EP, following Kae’s Study released in October 2022 and featuring collaborations with Victony and fellow KeyQaad artist Omah Lay. Kaestyle has amassed over 2 million streams on DSPs to date.
Both Leriq and KaeStyle synergise their remarkable talents as producers and songwriters to present a captivating fusion of Afrobeats and R&B in this masterpiece, exploring themes of love, passion, hard work and everything in between.
KaeStyle described the EP as “not meant for everyone” emphasising the importance of catering to R&B enthusiasts. “It’s about time someone got defiant and fed the R&B fans like myself,” he said.
Last year, Leriq launched his non-fungible token (NFT) platform, African Valuables Collective (AVC), to enable African creators to generate and sell their work. AVC, based in Lagos, Nigeria, and Accra, Ghana, is expected to expand across the rest of the continent after securing undisclosed funding from investors such as Kepple Africa Ventures, Cameron Hejazi and Ronald Chagoury Jr.
