Open call: CAPASSO and YouTube songwriting workshop in Joburg
The Composers, Authors and Publishers Association (CAPASSO), in partnership with YouTube, will host a workshop and songwriting panel discussion at the Academy of Sound Engineering (ASE) in Johannesburg, South Africa, on 6 September from 12pm to 3pm.
The Creating a Home for Songwriters on YouTube workshop is designed for CAPASSO members. It will take a look at how YouTube is helping songwriters and producers showcase their portfolio of work to connect and engage with fellow musicians and fans. Participants will get answers on how to create their visual discography, and learn how to promote their latest work on YouTube.
The workshop will impart and equip songwriters and producers with knowledge on how to showcase their work on the platform and connect with more supporters.
The first part of the workshop will be hosted by the YouTube team, followed by a Q&A session. After that CAPASSO and SAMRO will host a songwriting panel discussion with some of South Africa’s leading songwriters who will take attendees through their songwriting journey and how to mine your experiences to become the best wordsmith. Panellists on the panel discussion will be unveiled a week before the workshop.
