Provincial Arts and Culture Recognition Awards in SA: All the nominees

The awards are organised by the North West Department of Arts, Culture, Sports and Recreation. They seek to recognise artists in disciplines such as music, dance, film, fashion design, literature, crafts and visual arts, among others. The categories are designed to honour creatives from the North West province’s four districts of Bojanala, Ngaka Modiri Molema, Dr Kenneth Kaunda and Dr Ruth Segomotsi Mompati.

Nominated in the music category are Mainline Ngobeni and Badimo Jazz Band, Quincy K, Kopano Ke Matla Youth Group and Mr Sea. Competing in the dance category are Tau Nakedi, Tshepiso Khumalo, John Motladile and Boitumelo Mokwene.

“It gives us tremendous pleasure to present these fine gems from our province,” the department’s MEC Galebekwe Tlhapi said. “We are delighted and proud to have such a calibre of achievers nominated for the PACRAs. It speaks of the high standards we hold in the North West and how our artists, performers and those who run our facilities can compete with anyone in the country. I send my best wishes to all the nominees and may the best win.”
