Register for African Music Business Forum virtual event
Online information platform African Music Business Forum is calling on all interested participants to register for its panel event, which will be held via Zoom on 11 June.
The pan-African platform was created primarily to stimulate the growth of local music businesses across the continent. The event is courtesy of Songtrust and the Strictly Entertainment Group, and will provide an opportunity for music companies from around the world to pitch their services to an African audience.
The conference will feature guest speakers such as International Federation of the Phonographic Industry regional director for sub-Saharan Africa Angela Ndambuki, Associate solicitor at Sheridans Wale Kalejaiye, Phonographic Performance Limited deputy general counsel Camilla Waite, The Orchard South Africa director Mpumi Phillips and Songtrust director of business development for EMEA and APAC Mandy Aubry, among others.
The event will be moderated by African Music Business Forum founder and The Orchard Nigeria director Ikechukwu Onuorah, and UK lawyer, Afrobeat Network and 6060 Music Group director Nosa Dag Aghayere.
Featured topics and presentations will include Improving the Environment for Recorded Music in Sub-Saharan Africa and Music Distribution in a Global Marketplace, as well as a law masterclass and music publishing workshops. There will also be a prize giveaway where participants will stand a chance to win music business books along with a year’s membership to global music industry newsletters.
The event will start at 12pm GMT and interested participants can register for the conference here.
“At a time when African music continues to gain momentum across the globe and while the world continues to navigate new ways of doing business around lockdown due to COVID-19, the need for companies to still be able to communicate their goods and services becomes even more necessary,” African Music Business Forum said.
