South African R&B singer Hunter Rose has been featured by Apple Music as part of the streaming platform's New Artist Spotlight series for the month of July.
The announcement follows the May release of her eight-track debut EP Love & Trust.
“It's an absolute honour to be recognised by Apple music,” the Cape Town-based Hunter Rose said. “It's an exciting time for R&B as well as South African music and after the thrilling release of my EP, this feels like the cherry on top.”
Rose entered the music scene in 2019 with a single titled ‘Hot’ followed by ‘Let Me Go’ featuring German producer Meek. The two songs earned her a debut TV appearance on SABC’s Expresso Morning Show and local performances at the Artscape Theatre, Baxter Theatre and Red Bull Studios.
Hunter Rose has also performed in Switzerland and Germany. She has collaborated with such artists as Maloon TheBoom (Switzerland), UndaDe Sango (Switzerland), Miles Singleton (US/Switzerland), ECHLN (South Africa), Psychedelic AK (South Africa) and AliThatDude (Namibia).
Love & Trust was released through Rude World Records and features such songs as ‘Let Me Go’, ‘Any Less’, ‘I Just Might’ and ‘By Your Side’. Artists that are featured on the album include Swiss producer Maloon TheBoom and South African electronic-soul producer ECHLN. Rose draws inspiration from US singers D’Angelo and Anita Baker.
