- Lebohang Kgapola has been selected to showcase her music at a music conference in the US.
Kgapola received an official invitation letter last week after she submitted music and videos of her live performances to a selection panel.
The IGAAC is a business and music conference that seeks to support independent gospel artists and their ever-changing needs. Conference sessions change from year to year with recent gatherings seeking to disseminate information about music distribution, independent label operation, licensing and royalties, structuring contracts, marketing, artist branding, the reality of radio, touring across the US, artwork fundamentals, artist development, and accounting and tax tips for the independent artist, among others.
Kgapola has worked with such artists as Khaya Mthethwa, Neville D, Ernie Smith, Loyiso Bala, Lira, We Will Worship, Brian Temba, Musa Sukwene and Robbie Malinga as well as Grammy winner Israel Houghton with whom she toured Nigeria and Ghana. She has also been cast or featured in various TV shows in South Africa.
Earlier this year she was a finalist at the fourth Annual National SA Indies Music Week, held at Gold Reef City.
