SA: Jeremy Olivier releases romantic single to celebrate Valentine’s Day
South Africa-based Zimbabwean singer-songwriter Jeremy Olivier has unveiled his latest single, ‘Can’t Get Enough of You’, a heartfelt tribute to love, available for download and streaming here.
Written as a dedication to his partner of 27 years, Olivier steps into a more intimate musical space, delivering a song rich in emotion and melody. Drawing inspiration from John Mayer’s ‘Your Body Is a Wonderland’, the track blends tender lyrics with a hook-driven chorus, making it an ideal soundtrack for romance this Valentine’s Day.
“I wanted to create something truly special, something that would express my love in a way I hadn’t before,” Olivier shared. “This song is for my wife, but I hope it resonates with everyone who has ever been completely in love.”
Born and raised in Chinhoyi, Zimbabwe, Olivier’s love for music began early. By the age of 14, he was already touring the country with a rock band, developing his skills as a guitarist. After completing his A-Levels in Harare, he moved to Cape Town, South Africa, where he earned a BMus Honours in Jazz Performance from the University of Cape Town’s College of Music.
His debut single, ‘Serendipity’ (2012), quickly became a radio favourite, followed by successful tracks such as ‘It’s My Time’ and ‘What About Now’. In 2014, his single ‘Beautiful’, dedicated to his adopted son, went viral and was later used by UNICEF South Africa to promote their Ending Violence Against Children campaign, solidifying his role as a UNICEF SA Celebrity Advocate.
Olivier gained national recognition in 2016 when he became a finalist on The Voice South Africa, earning a coveted four-chair turn and securing a place on Team Lira. His emotional performance of Oliver Mtukudzi’s ‘Neria’ captured the admiration of the late Zimbabwean legend, who later invited him to perform at his birthday celebration.
Following The Voice SA, Mtukudzi collaborated with Lira on ‘Love Back’, which climbed to #2 on Jacaranda FM’s Top 20. Over the years, he has shared the stage with renowned artists such as George Benson, Katherine Jenkins, Jonathan Butler, and Mtukudzi, as well as South African legends Johnny Clegg, Hugh Masekela, Ladysmith Black Mambazo, and Freshly Ground.
