SA: Loui Lvndn releases Fire is the New Black video
South African alternative musician Loiu Lvndn has released a new music video for his ‘Fire is the New Black’ track.
The song is the latest single off his 2017 SAMA-nominated debut album Your Princess Is In Another Castle, which was released under Gallo Music Group.
The album is available for streaming and download here.
Loui Lvndn leads the high-energy song with an arresting electric guitar. The song is devoid of boundaries with its heavy electrifying flow and unorthodox medleys of tribal-like drums undercut by '80s electro and progressive rock elements. ‘Fire is the New Black’ also includes funk elements, making the song appealing to fans of different genres.
During an interview with Music In Africa last year, Lvndn Lvndn said that at the time the song was his favourite off Your Princess Is In Another Castle.
"It's a song that's like, 'What did I just put in my CD player?!' It's kinda like my favourite track on the album. It's not a single from the record label or anything like that, I just wanted to put this track out ... [the video] is a moving editorial where we captured models in between poses in this crazy grade with overly blackened faces."
Produced by 1050 Entertainment, the video is centered around a flamboyant Loui Lvndn, dressed by Lethabo Motlale, on top of a pedestal. It features a number of models. His spotlight is further enhanced by the salient contrast of black and white in the background producing a visually engaging aesthetic to the piece.
